21st Annual Pat's Run in Tempe

I provided digital coverage for the 21st annual Pat's Run in Tempe, Arizona. The run pays tribute to Pat Tillman and raises money for the Pat Tillman Foundation which helps provide scholarships for service members, veterans and their families. I captured exciting moments to compose a web story with photo and video elements. I also created two reels for the Arizona's Family Instagram account that got a combined total of over 37,500 plays and 1,500 likes.

Food: Taste of Arizona

My Taste of Arizona articles for Arizona's Family 3TV/CBS5. Taste of Arizona is a segment that highlights a Phoenix-area restaurant or food business. I traveled to the restaurant and used camera and audio equipment to conduct an interview as wel las take photos and videos for broadcast, website and social media publication.

Colorful soft-serve and coffee available at trendy central Phoenix ice cream shop

Step through the door of Onyx Ice Cream in central Phoenix, and you’ll see it is not your typical ice cream shop. The walls are lined with neon lights, and 80s-style music can be heard, with song lyrics on the floor. The atmosphere is meant to feel like a lounge, a place to hang out while enjoying homemade, colorful ice cream cones and coffee made with quality ingredients.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Coverage

One of my goals for 2025 was to create content and provide coverage Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month in May. As someone who belongs to this community, I felt it was important to represent it and highlight some AAPI-owned businesses and organizations doing great things to share their culture with the Phoenix area.

From January to May, I balanced by day-to-day work as a digital content producer while also researching and communicating with AAPI owned businesses to book as weekly segments for Arizona's Family's 3 p.m. newscast for the month of May. This involved going outside of my day to day tasks and work with different departments like TV and art to make these segments come alive. I booked Oaty Bear, the Valley's first AAPI-owned dog boutique, Tamāli’i Polynesian Entertainment, Mochidot Donuts and Pacific Rim and Bento

I also did a digital project on Mesa's Asian District, highlighting how it came to be, murals that celebrate the different cultures and what it means for Asian business owners in the area to be part of this community.

I am so proud of the work I've done and hope everyone watching and reading were able to learn something new about AAPI businesses in the Valley, as well as feel inspired by the community that's here.

Take a drive along Dobson Road between Main Street and Broadway Road, and you will see dozens of Asian businesses and restaurants, along with a couple of colorful red, green, and blue signs that say, “Mesa Asian District.” This strip of road is the heart of the district in west Mesa. It includes many Asian cultures that visitors can learn about or even feel at home in.
